Outdoor Painters of Minnesota deploys hardy winter plein air artists to paint in the Art Shanty village again in 2026. Undaunted by cold, wind, snow, and ice, winter plein air painters paint in all weather. OPM’s Berton Boxes—public painting pochades—will be invitingly placed for visitors to try winter-proof art materials like oil crayons and non-toxic solvents that can move the paint around on a canvas in exciting ways to create their own paintings on 8×10 canvases to display or take home.
