MADSON AIDS MEMORIAL SHANTY

Nearly 45 years after the onset of the AIDS epidemic, there is still no cure. The ongoing nature of AIDS means that a memorial for it must address the past, present, and future. As a space for contemplation, the shanty reflects the natural landscape with opportunities to add your own tributes to those affected by HIV or other ongoing epidemics. The shanty is inspired by designs from the late architect, David Madson, whose thesis was published posthumously in 1998.
